This is the latest Karin Jurick challenge...Madison Avenue, New York. I wanted to capture the noise and lights and movement (or stuck-in-traffic lack thereof) of a New York City street. And, I wanted to have fun with it trying a really quick rendition. Rather than my usual 8-10 hour more detailed rendering I wanted a more splash and dash. Everything always takes longer than I think....waahla....my three-hour "minute."

Yay Diane! I love the hustle and bustle you painted. It does feel like the rush you get when you're caught up with all the action in the Big Apple.
Diane, I really like this a lot. I can hear horns honking, police whistles blowing, somebody yelling for a cab and just the sounds of the Big Apple. This is great and yours is one of my top favorites. It's so evocative.
excellent, diane!
Diane,
When I first looked at your image I thought to myself "what fun!" Then I read what you said and bingo! Fun to do and fun to see.
Nice job.
Thanks Camille. If that's what you hear then I succeeded! Yay! as Sheila says.
Thanks Liz
Thanks, Maria. It was fun to do. Working wet and quick is always a little scary. That kind of work usually goes through an "ugly" stage and sometimes doesn't come out of it.
Wow, Diane..I really like the evening-time rendition of this challenge. Looks great...and sorry to be such a stranger..the move from Costa Rica really put me behind.
I like your night time version. Very energetic.
Such activity and action in your painting, great entry!
This is so nice and colorful, I love it.
Great job Diane! It has all the energy of the city, with lots of splash and dash!!
