Juicy, too

I like to do more than just one arrangement of a subject. This is the second of several watermelon paintings to come. My main goal is to take simple everyday objects and invite the viewer to take a closer look. I strive to transform the simple everyday object into an un-ordinary, not-so-still life by using strong lighting and reflective surfaces to create drama.

Juicy with Seeds

Is it possible to find a watermelon with seeds any more? I couldn't find one. A friend of mine collects watermelon paintings and asked me to do one for her. She wanted seeds, so I had to improvise. Actually, the seedless watermelon was invented right here in the Coachella Valley where I live....(Palm Springs, CA)
