The art of fun....or should it be.... the fun of art. I'm trying something completely different. I bought a ton of little 5" x 7" Raymar panels and am trying some quick studies. Since I took 7 years of French I'm going to call them etudes. All those lessons finally put to some use. For this landscape I used very liquid washes of oil and really enjoyed the freedom. Just made the scene up and called it quits after 20 minutes. Using a small panel instead of a stretched canvas removes some of the angst of feeling that you have to create a detailed masterpiece every time. This was very relaxing and satisfying. "Etude 1 Deserted Isle" oil on panel 5"x 7" Available at Daily Paintworks
