Bees have tongues. Hummingbirds have tongues. Who knew?

Holey Cow!
I must say, you are either very brave or have a telescopic lens the length of a rain gutter!

That's funny, Sheila. I used to be so afraid of bees, but since I've been photographing I forget to be afraid. In fact, I grab the flower they are on and hold the blossom still when the wind is blowing or lean it into the sun to get the right lighting. They don't seem to mind. Perhaps I've only been lucky so far. I'm only using a little point-and-shoot without the zoom, so I get pretty close.

Diane, your photos are magnificent! What camera do you use?

Thanks Ed and Liz. Lynda, I just use a little Nikon Coolpix that fits easily in my purse. No special lens are anything. If you take enough pictures you're bound to get a good one now and then. I have a better camera, but I found I never carry it because it's too big. At least with this little one I always have my camera with me.

Thanks, Diane. That's a wonderful recommendation for the camera. It will definitely go on my wish list.
